The terms on which R Stringer & Co Builders Ltd surveys, quotes for and carries out work.
R Stringer & Co Builders Ltd (company no. 16620476, registered office: 27 Simmonds Way, Brownhills, Walsall, WS8 7AG) — "we", "us". These terms apply to surveys, quotations and works we carry out for you. They don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Work starts with a site survey. We then issue a written, itemised quotation. A contract is formed when you accept that quotation in writing and a start date is agreed. Only the works listed in the quotation are included; anything else is a variation under section 4.
Quotations list labour and materials separately and are valid for 30 days. Small jobs are priced as a fixed price; larger jobs are priced in stages, with each stage's cost shown before it begins. Payment terms are stated on each quotation and invoice.
We confirm dates and how long the work should take at survey, once the scope is fixed. We need safe access, power and water where the work requires them. We keep work areas tidy and leave them clean at handover.
Changes to the agreed scope are agreed in writing — email is fine — with any change to price and timing confirmed before the extra work is done.
Materials are specified per contract after survey. We install to the manufacturer's written specification so product warranties remain valid, and we register manufacturer warranties where the maker allows. Our workmanship warranty is as stated in your completion documents.
If you are a consumer and your contract was made at a distance or off-premises, you may have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 — details are provided with every quotation. Work you ask us to start during that period is treated as your express instruction.
We are responsible for work we carry out negligently or in breach of these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. We aren't liable for loss that isn't a foreseeable result of the works.
If something isn't right, email support@r-stringer.net. We acknowledge complaints within a few working days and put right work that falls within our warranty terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, where the company is registered, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
